Jim Harbaugh calls out Donald Trump on Twitter over budget cuts to legal services

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is no stranger to voicing his opinion, and that¡¯s especially true when it comes to his Twitter account. Most recently, the SEC Network¡¯s Paul Finebaum was caught in the head coach¡¯s crosshairs.

The latest target for Harbaugh is now the one and only President Donald Trump. On Tuesday morning, he took to Twitter to express his disapproval regarding Trump¡¯s new budget proposal, which could reportedly eliminate the Legal Services Corporation, the largest funder of civil legal assistance for low-income Americans.

I hope reports that White House trying to defund Legal Services Corp aren’t true. LSC is CRUCIAL to making justice system fair. #LSCmatters

So, what¡¯s Harbaugh¡¯s beef with this anyway? Well, Harbaugh became a member of the LSC¡¯s Leader¡¯s Council in April 2016:

¡°The weatherman said it¡¯s like a low pressure system that was coming in (and) I forgot to adjust to the thickness of the air,¡± he told reporters at Wells Fargo Center.

Yesss … let this become a thing.

Cecil Shorts out vs. Chargers with hamstring injury

Cecil Shorts out vs. Chargers with hamstring injury

Cecil Shorts will miss the rest of Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers with a hamstring injury. Shorts was ruled out in the third quarter.

Unfortunately for the Jacksonville Jaguars, hamstring problems are not a new things for the wide out. Shorts has missed time with various injuries since entering the league, but hamstring problems featured prominently in 2011 and 2012.

Germain Ifedi Limited Jersey Before leaving the game with an apparent ankle injury (returning to the sidelines after x-rays came up negative), Bridgewater was throwing and running the ball exceptionally well. He was 19-of-30 for 317 yards and also had a rushing touchdown. He had more yards in his first start than any Vikings quarterback in history — only Cam Newton and Robert Griffin III had more yards in their first starts under center. His playmaking contributed to the most offense — 351 yards — the Vikings have had in the first half since 2004. Not bad, though the ankle injury is concerning.

Matt Asiata and Jerick McKinnon contributed a huge day in the running game.

Sure, Asiata may have had just 78 yards, but he managed to score three touchdowns and carry the ball 20 times as the Viking’s inside runner. Rookie McKinnon blew away the Falcons’ front seven with 135 yards rushing, with his longest run going for 55 yards. Wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson was relatively kept in check today, but he still made his presence known with a 22-yard catch in the third quarter.

Ok, so we already knew that (Green Bay came in ranked No. 30 in run defense). But the point was reiterated Sunday as Matt Forte eviscerated them for 122 yards. Despite missing a starting guard and center, the Bears generally had their way up the middle, where the season-ending injury to nose tackle B.J. Raji has left the Packers undersized.

The Packers scoring onslaught in the second half forced to Bears away from the ground game and made the stat line more respectable than it could have been, but this is an issue that needs to be addressed.

Shields was one of Green Bay’s most reliable and effective defensive backs in recent years

The Eagles are in dire need of salary cap space, and while McKelvin was a carryover from Buffalo and familiar with Jim Schwartz’s defense, injury issues (concussion, hamstring) limited him to 12 games. At 31 years old, Philadelphia is going younger as it searches for needed improvements.

Jared Odrick, defensive end, Jacksonville Jaguars

Odrick’s cap number was the second-highest on Jacksonville’s roster, and as Gregg Rosenthal wrote, he would probably be best used as a rotational defensive end. For a Jaguars team that spent plenty in recent years, Odrick was a prime candidate to get cut as Jacksonville trims the unnecessarily expensive contracts from its roster moving forward.

Sam Shields, cornerback, Green Bay Packers

Shields was one of Green Bay’s most reliable and effective defensive backs in recent years, but concussion-related issues in 2016 — Shields played in just one game all season — leave him with an uncertain future, though the corner said he hopes to play in 2017.

Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, who took over the duties midway through the season, believes a full offseason in the program will help the rapport between Bradford and his receivers, allowing the passing attack to make a leap forward.

“When he comes back [for the Vikings’ offseason program in April], him having the ability to sit down with the players he’s going to play with through the offseason, we’ll do things that fit his eye, that fit with what we do,” Shurmur said last week, via ESPN.com.

That looks simple—motion across the line, then an out route—but it only played out that way because Engram executed it with such precision. Notice not just how sharp Engram was into his break, but how quickly he turned his hips and got his head around for the pass. This was a timing route all the way, with a defender to Engram’s inside shoulder and a DB closing from about 12 yards deep.

For now, Lynch is living in a local hotel as he adjusts to his new job while his wife Linda and four children — Jake, 17, Lindsay, 16, Lilly, 14, and Leah, 9 — are finishing the school year in San Diego. Jake might stay there with Lynch’s parents for his senior year, but the rest of the family will eventually relocate to the Bay Area. On weekends, Lynch travels to Southern California or his family comes to visit him.

Limited Youth Nellie Fox Jersey It’s one of the many sacrifices Lynch has had to make in transitioning to his new, high-profile job after eight years in the broadcast booth. It also was one of the primary things Lynch and his family considered before the Niners surprised the football world by hiring him out of nowhere to help rebuild this once-proud franchise.

“As soon as we started having conversations, I knew that this was going to be a possibility, so the biggest thing was, ‘Can I get my family on board?'” Lynch said. “Ultimately, we got there. At first my wife said, ‘You go make this decision,’ and I said, ‘No, no, no, we have to make this decision.’ I got them to the point where they were as excited as I was and pulled the trigger.”

Lynch said Denver Broncos general manager/executive vice president John Elway has been an adviser throughout this process. When Elway retired from football, he threw himself into a variety of business ventures but eventually found his way back to football, first in the Arena League and now in his current role with the Broncos.

Lions president says ‘very good chance’ Ndamukong Suh remains in Detroit

Kids Dion Sims Jersey With his contract set to expire next month, Ndamukong Suh could become one of the most highly sought-after free agents in recent years. But on Sunday, Lions president Tom Lewand expressed optimism that the star defensive tackle will stay in Detroit.

Womens Chris Johnson Jersey “He wants to have success in the NFL, obviously, but he wants to do that with us,” Lewand told the Detroit Free Press. “And I think that — I think there’s a very, very good chance that we can get something done with him in the next few weeks.”

Suh’s rookie contract expires on Friday and he’ll become an unrestricted free agent market on March 10. The Lions would like to lock him down with a long term contract before that happens — once he hits the open market, the chances of bringing him back take a steep dip.

But Perry has a massive following and is as relevant as they get right now. Apparently unwilling to keep it just to the fresh face, the NFL also has Kravitz joining in on the performance. With decades of experience in the music industry, Kravitz is still going strong with his music today.

Perry is well-known for collaborating and Perry hinted that she would bring a “throwback” female musician on stage with her, but she never announced who the guest would be. News came out soon after that rapper Missy Elliott would reportedly join her as a surprise guest. The two artists previously worked together in 2011 on a remix of Perry’s hit song “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.).”

The exact details of Perry’s performance remain a mystery, but her appearances at various awards shows and on tour are known to be complex and detailed performances. Super Bowl director Hamish Hamilton said that viewers should expect the unexpected, offering “This is a brand-new show, brand-new soundtrack and a brand-new collaboration,” according to Andrea Mandell of USA Today.

Who will feel the pain from Alex Reyes’ injury?

Who will feel the pain from Alex Reyes’ injury?

If St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Alex Reyes had stayed healthy, he would have worked through 2017 with some inning restrictions — something in the range of 140 to 150 innings — limits that would have mitigated his importance to the Cardinals. But Reyes is a high-impact talent, a pitcher who can miss bats because of how good his stuff is. And now he is likely to miss the year, after suffering an elbow tear.

Ripples from this injury flow in a lot of directions, reaching a lot of different folks:

Indeed, Willis has a strong track record with veteran pitchers. He has coached four Cy Young Award winners, from CC Sabathia (2007) and Cliff Lee (2008) with the Cleveland Indians to Felix Hernandez (2010) with the Seattle Mariners and Red Sox right-hander Rick Porcello last season.

But after so many years with Cooper, hearing new voices in his ear nevertheless will be another adjustment for Sale, who is attempting to avoid the pitfalls that befell Josh Beckett, John Lackey, Porcello, David Price and other pitchers in their first seasons in Boston.
Elite Mens Paul Martin Jersey
“The more you’re around people, the better your relationship becomes,” Sale said. “You learn them, they learn you and vice versa. You just bounce ideas off each other. It’s not going to be perfect the first time — maybe it will, I don’t know — but some of those things we’ll figure out along the way.”

It’s all part of Sale’s next chapter. “That’s my responsibility, my job, to learn his language, not for him to learn mine,” Willis said. “It’s about Chris Sale being comfortable. I will take the time to learn. He and I discussed some things during the winter as far as how I go about things and my style of coaching. Not to compare myself with Coop, but our way of doing things is similar, from what I’ve gathered from Chris, so hopefully it’ll allow him to get comfortable right away.”

During McDermott’s tenure as defensive coordinator of the Panther

During McDermott’s tenure as defensive coordinator of the Panther

This might be an unpopular opinion, but tagging Gilmore just doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense for Buffalo. The team’s new head coach, , has traditionally built his defenses inside-out, meaning he places a high value on members of the front seven and doesn’t put as much emphasis on having talent in the secondary.

During McDermott’s tenure as defensive coordinator of the Panthers, eight of the their 10 defensive selections in the first three rounds of the draft were players in the front seven. In fact, the only two defensive backs selected in the first three rounds came last year, when the team was already set at the linebacker and defensive line positions.

The Bills already have limited cap space, so using the tag on a cornerback seems against McDermott’s nature. I could be totally wrong on this, but based on everything we’ve seen from McDermott to this point, I would guess Gilmore will be playing for a new team next season. If true, rumors that the corner is looking for top-five money all but guarantee Gilmore will leave Buffalo.

Five linemen with starting experience return, including two-year left tackle Jeremiah Culbreth. Eight of 11 names from last year’s two-deep are back, and Georgia transfer Jake Edwards joins the mix.

When you look at things from that perspective, a bounce-back is possible. But Georgia Southern has lost the benefit of the doubt, and Cook has to earn it back.

Despite selecting defensive tackle Vernon Butler in the first round of last year’s draft, the Panthers will make a strong push to re-sign one of the stalwarts on their defense. Coach Ron Rivera already acknowledged the franchise tag is the likeliest option if the two sides can’t agree to a long-term deal.

Travis Frederick and Tyron Smith. The Cowboys believe in signing their star players to mega-long extensions with large base salaries

Likewise, organizations need to pay attention to the first few critical things they’ll do during the 2017 offseason, because those decisions might end up defining their season to come. Some teams have a lot to do before the new league year begins March 9, whereas others won’t have to make critical calls until the first day of the NFL draft on April 27.

In this series for ESPN over the next two weeks, I’ll be running through the first five things that should be on the minds of each team’s brass as they prepare for the 2017 offseason. I’ll start with the NFC East, which seems likely to shed some well-known stars after a tumultuous and entertaining 2016.

Game Youth Travis Zajac Jersey Restructure the contracts of Tyrone Crawford, Travis Frederick and Tyron Smith. The Cowboys believe in signing their star players to mega-long extensions with large base salaries. Those base salaries can be converted into signing bonuses, giving the players much of their season-long base salaries up front, while allowing the Cowboys to spread the cap hit over the remainder of their deal. Just four NFL players are signed through 2022. Two are Cowboys — Smith and Frederick.

John Hannah Youth Jersey Rivera also made it clear the Panthers will look to upgrade the tackle position. The most likely place to do that is free agency, since this isn’t a good year for tackles in the draft.

One name that keeps coming up is Minnesota left tackle Matt Kalil, the brother of Carolina center Ryan Kalil. He spent most of last season on injured reserve with a hip injury that required surgery.

The Panthers also have to make a decision on tackle Mike Remmers, who moved from the right to the left side to replace Oher this past season. Remmers is an unrestricted free agent.

Connecticut politicians invite Islanders to play in Hartford if they leave Barclays Center

It was only a matter of time until the Hartford Whalers entered the New York Islanders¡¯ arena drama discussion.

The Islanders have faced questions recently about their arena situation after a report last week indicated the team and its current venue, Barclays Center, are interested in parting ways. If that comes to fruition, the Islanders will need a new building to play in while they secure an arena deal in Queens.

¡°It has come to our attention that the Islanders may be in the need for a new home after the 2017-18 season. Recognizing that many issues will complicate your decision making, we would nonetheless like to offer Hartford¡¯s XL Center as an option for your interim use. Of course, as we pursue the transformation of the building into today¡¯s NHL standards, we would suggest the building as a long-term solution to your needs as well. We are certainly willing to work with private partners to develop the building you would be proud to call home and to adjust our development plans to the needs of your clubs and fans.¡±

As the politicians note in the statement, Hartford was the home of the NHL¡¯s Whalers from 1979 to 1997, when the franchise moved to Raleigh and became the Carolina Hurricanes. Hartford hasn¡¯t had an NHL team since then, though their legacy and merchandise live on throughout NHL fan circles.

The Islanders haven¡¯t commented on the Barclays Center situation publicly. There¡¯s still the Islanders¡¯ former home of Nassau Coliseum to consider, as it undergoes renovations. And it¡¯s highly doubtful the Islanders move from New York. But injecting the Whalers into the discussion can¡¯t really hurt Hartford, so it¡¯s no surprise they¡¯ve done it. The pot has been stirred.

With Super Bowl LI complete, 2017 NFL draft order is set

Elite Kids Percy Harvin Jersey
The New England Patriots orchestrated a historic comeback to beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 and win Super Bowl LI on Sunday night in Houston. With the victory, we can now fill in the final two of 32 slots in the first round of the NFL’s draft order.

The Falcons will select No. 31 in the draft and the Patriots will have the No. 32 pick.

Early in the game, the Patriots’ coaching staff couldn’t figure out a way to stop the Falcons’ pass rush, and Atlanta got pressure with four rushers. Defensively, the Patriots couldn’t stop the Falcons from getting to the perimeter. New England opened up the offense and scored 19 points to tie the game in the fourth quarter and then won it in overtime with another six.

Cousins still required maintenance, but the cues were now mutually recognized. Malone was a red-assed tyrant, but Cousins says he loved how Malone’s anger was always situational, never personal. “Mike was real,” Cousins says. “Mike held everyone accountable, most of all himself. That’s all that matters. That’s all it’s about.”
Elite Kids Paul George Jersey
Cousins replied by asking the owner, in somewhat colorful profanity, if he had taken leave of his sanity. When he then asked the brain trust about the timetable for its verdict on Malone, he was told the decision had already been made. Sources say Cousins then responded by asking why he’d been diverted from a charity event for a matter that had clearly been resolved without his input.

Those with knowledge of the conversation say Cousins was told by Ranadive that the Kings would win substantially more games with assistant coach Tyrone Corbin at the helm.
